News from the SCAS Community


Hans Joas (Ernst Troeltsch Professor for the Sociology of Religion, Humboldt-
Universität zu Berlin, and Professor of Sociology and Social Thought, University
of Chicago) has been awarded the Prize for Distinguished Lifetime Achievement
by the German Sociological Association (DGS). He will receive the prize at the
DGS congress in Bielefeld in September. Hans Joas is a former Non-resident Long-
term Fellow at SCAS. He was in residence at the Collegium in the spring of 1992,
the academic years 1999-2000 and 2004-05, and in the spring of 2010.


Ulf Landegren (Professor of Molecular Medicine, Uppsala University) and his two
colleagues of biotech company Olink Proteomics are the first recipients of the newly
established Uppsala University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award.
Ulf Landegren is responsible for the Measurable Human section of the Natural Sciences Programme at SCAS, and a member of the programme's Selection Committee.
